As a student i lived at some times just over from that Muslim Bakery , rent being what it is in the Bay Area especially around large Univeristy centers like Stanford & Cal and know the area well . You want to talk "hardened" to violence & crime & depressing area ? Try Oakland , Ca . Think Oakland (and Richmond, Ca ) was the murder capital of the entire US 12yrs running when i was there & its gotten worse with Chicano Gangs now out numbering the Blacks and the police then were some of the most corrupt & violent in the US next to NYC . And its spread all over now to SF down the Pennisula to even just near Apple Corp & up north too where meth & chicano gangs are huge . Its depression all over . It goes far beyond the "muslim" idea , these cities are literal garbage dumps of human beings that are barely liveable & traveling thru at night is a very dangerous affair . Most of Oakland down in the huge flat areas every house has steel bar cages on every window and you think that keeps the thieves out not a chance, they'll just wait outside for you & pistol whip you . A friend of mines son moved there up in the hills & they still came in within a month & wiped them out ....then they came back a 2nd time to get the rest after they spent $5k on steel bars . Lucky they werent killed , property crime & violence is beyond anything anyone can imagine , its just US phenomenon. The saving grace is the Chinese & Korean populations that move in and take over certain areas ...
