Bill, here is a link that forecasts stabilization in Asia. As for SEA effects on U.S. markets, are you not at all concerned about a flood of cheap foreign goods hurting the profits of U.S. companies, and hence our markets?

"FOCUS-Hong Kong sees Asia crisis over by Christmas"
biz.yahoo.com

Excerpt: "The recovery across the region would be swift and robust, as export-led economies reap the benefit from the competitive boost of cheaper currencies."

Hi Bill,,,Yah,,,I don't know how many kicks I need to learn , having ideas can be dangerous to your wealth,,,,,,but when I see stocks rammed up near the close,,with what I consider, a definite intention to decieve,,I find it very hard to buy them the next day, at an even higher price,,,so I sell,,turns out to be a bad move,,,IMHO,,this is a no limit poker game , and they've got all the dough, and in most cases it's not even theirs,,IMHO,,they don't have the cards,,but , I suppose that does'nt matter....

Bill

Stock and bond markets have a short day Friday and some commodity markets are closed. It usually is the lowest volume day of the year and generally does not provide much in the way of fireworks but with low volume it could get pushed either way. I don't know what to think about it. I am wondering why you have it as a strong down already? Do you find your formulation for the VIX useful for predicting several days ahead?
