Yes, for risk distribution against erratic legalization and/or uncontrolled money printing.

That said, in Germany one must be real lucky to find any safe bank offering more than 1.2-1.5% interest rate on your savings account - in Euros, which are predicted by Wal Street and London experts to hit 1.18 vs the USD this year vs. currently 1.32. The Swiss Franken right now is under a forced lid of 1.20 vs the Euro and would otherwise rather hit 1.40 easily.
