The residents of the ivory towers will oppose the shift because they know it's a long fall to the ground, but current forces are against them. It will be a welcome change. As you would have heard early in the video, Khan Academy is non-profit. He wants education to be free and has supplied many basic as well as advanced mini-courses on various school subjects. Apparently, his method of teaching is getting through to students who otherwise have difficulty in the traditional classroom settings. I know I would have preferred this method.
