I'm 4 for 4 getting customers that kind of cable never had a single issue or need to install any new drivers.

Okay, good to know. I'm running Windows 7 and I'll keep that link you sent, in case I need to go there for new drivers. The printer is pretty old, more than 6-7 years if I remember. But it sure has been a good one so I hope this idea will let me continue using it.

I tried some off brand one, never could get it to print more than a half a page before freezing.

Tried different bios settings, never was successful in getting a whole page printed....
