most plans pay for it -- if yours doesn't, I wouldn't do it. I have a high deductible plan that is crap -- once you reach 50 the insurance companies think it is worth for them to pay?? Or is it a conspiracy to implant me with the latest tracking device?? But I am convinced there is little risk from the procedure -- not any more than a bout of diahrea or passing a hard stool ... I did it last december. The prep was annoying -- but since I was awake and watched the thing on the screen, i can't imagine there being any risk to it -- they just blow a bunch of air into you.
