I think there may be some confusion there. My statement was that the price getting hit was not in any way influenced by it being in a gap or not - not that the price couldn't/wouldn't be hit.

If it drops that low - there will be a lot people who thought they were ringing the register by selling deep in the money puts, that will all of a sudden have to cough up some big money when they get put to them some stock.

Wonder how much supply that dascade creates - I bet it is huge and then to think it is also weekly.

Could be a greasy slide eh?

Bob

spitsong:

Not too long ago, I mentioned here about the gap at about 425 during January not being filled and the TA I read says Gaps are eventually filled. This was when Apple was about high 500s or 600, I don't remember. The limited consensus was fat chance that it's going to happen or don't hold your breath. These are not direct quotes but the meaning is the same and it is not necessary or it doesn't follow that Gaps are significant and have to be closed. Well, that may be and we'll see. I hope I'm wrong.

Anyway, as you stated, it will be a tremendous buying opportunity but at what point to buy in? That is the question.
You said so a long time ago. Since then, AAPL has gone up so far, those gaps do not matter. They may get filled. They probably will. By then we may all be dead.

Like a long time ago, I repeatedly proclaimed I would never, ever make color photos. That gap got filled and I moved on, a few decades later.

Happens.
