alexa, this is not a poem, but a favourite little story of mine. I have learnt much from it and like to read it now and then for inspiration:

Richard Bach ~ author of Best Seller & movie ~ "Johnathon Livingston Seagull" ~ He was taught the importance of the words ~ PATIENCE ~ & PRACTICE - plus The Magic of Believing and Living The 'GooD' thoughts within oneself.

It took only four hours to write but eight years to finish this novel. One night - he heard the words 'Johnathon Livingston Seagull' while out walking - he then went home and a magic movie like screen played before his eyes ~ He heard the dialogue & the names of the various seagulls and wrote over 1/3 of the book - then went to bed as he was tired and his hand was sore from writing for about two hours.

Next day he tried to finish the book - but not a single thought - made any sense of what Johnathon would do next. After trying for months - even years - nothing seemed to fit.

Eight years later - he awoke one morning at 5:00 AM and the magical movie began to play again in his mind & before his eyes ~ He had the rest of this fantastic novel and now it made sense.

Once published - it became an overnight Best Seller ~ mostly by Word of Mouth - AS EVERYONE - was Talking about ~~ "Johnathon Livingston Seagull". Some major magical thoughts are to be found - in the book & the movie - . Imagine the PATIENCE of waiting ~ EIGHT YEARS ~ how many could ~ His Key ~ PATIENCE!!!

Amazing, isn't it!

Regards
Carol
