These are so typical of bashes against Bush:

GOV. BUSH: Because the picture on the newspaper. It just seems so un-American to me, the picture of the guy storming the house with a scared little boy there. I talked to my little brother, Jeb-I haven’t told this to too many people. But he’s the governor of-I shouldn’t call him my little brother–my brother, Jeb, the great governor of Texas.

JIM LEHRER: Florida.

GOV. BUSH: Florida. The state of the Florida.-

Yet nobody seemed to care when this idiot Obama referred to "58 states" or any of the other goofs he has made. When you're under a microscope you're going to screw up remarks sometimes. Bush did it a lot; but not in a way that any rational person would conclude he actually didn't KNOW the underlying facts.

It is petty and the constant usage of these examples suggests there aren't any REAL examples to cite.

"Keep good relations with the Grecians."

Yes, it is a blunder, but hardly suggests any lack of fundamental knowledge of Geography.

"It is clear our nation is reliant upon big foreign oil. More and more of our imports come from overseas."

Same here, except it really isn't a blunder. I'd say that was an accurate statement at the time.

"This quote is also indicative of our president’s lack of communication abilities. "

Sure, everyone -- including Bush himself -- agrees about this. I don't find that indicative, in the slightest, of the man's knowledge or intellect. I've known many smart people who mix words under pressure. I've done it myself when speaking to groups of people; I hope those comments I've mangled aren't reflective of my intellect. I suspect you've done the same.

I'd much rather have a president who knows the material and has trouble articulating it than to have one who is exceptionally articulate yet demonstrably stupid.
