Yes, Bay was rejected. Do realize that these talks are very preliminary, I suspect that they will be taken seriously in 2 weeks. I don't think it is a buyout, but there is a major agreement that will be the biggest thing going for ASND yet. I think the analysts will be behind the curve this time. I have been told that IBM insiders are buying the stock, private accumulation. I have seen this information no where else, thus I tend to give it great credibility.

Boy, you guys are really worked up with this takeover speculation. It's starting to feed itself. It's funny how buyout talk follows stocks that have tanked (ASND, FORE, ...). Must be a human condition - probably some form of denial. I suppose the buyout price is assumed to be some figure above each speculator's basis. What if it wasn't? I'm optimistic about Ascend but I'm content to wait a while for the payoff - longer than a few weeks/months. Of course, I've only recently acquired shares so I don't have to hope as much. :-)
