An excellent analysis, Karen! I remember Omnibus, and am so glad to hear that you were able to meet Meyer. What a privilege!

Meyer's belief that it is important that we learn our own history is so true. Our public school system has dismantled the teaching of American history over the past few decades, and has replaced the history that we used to learn with a combination of multicultural studies and revisionist American history. Young people today have very little knowledge about the founding and building of this country, the sacrifices that were made in their behalf, and the stirring stories of duty and courage that once made young people proud to be Americans.

Not knowing the sacrifices that were made to secure their liberties will make young people less willing to see those liberties as precious, and less willing to defend them when they are threatened.

Europe needs the immigrants they don't want to replace the aging work force just as we do. They just need them more than we do. Sharia and mosques on every corner is the price they'll pay for letting their populations decline to such irreversible levels.
