Thanks for contributing... it is fitting that the first atual outside contribution be of such high quality. I think I remember somewhere (Carl Sagan?) this.... "Fact": "A confirmed observation". A nice broad and useful explanation it seems to me... it's obvious limitation contributes to its strength... Of course using your examples... the very same "fact" can (and will?) continue to have its very substrate and indeed wording changed, re-contextualized, and re-defineded as more information is gathered. This seems to confound many.... but IMHO saves a LOT of energy and argument to those that understand the point at hand. DAK
