I almost ran over a wild turkey yesterday. The population has exploded here in the past 10 years. 20 years ago there weren't any. It's the same here in our neck of the woods. Last spring, while driving down our road on the way home from work, twenty-three of them walked across the road in front of my car, just about single-file. I have never seen that many at one time. Neither have I ever seen one as 'tame' as the one who stood there not 15' away from me this morning, just 'observing'.
