By now ya'll have probably heard the turmoil created by soldiers taking pictures of themselves with dead enemy soldiers in combat as published by the LA Times.

My take on that is this -

The American soldiers did what American civilians do. Like American civilians, American soldiers take pictures of what is going on around them. You cannot live in life and death situations on and on and on for weeks, months and 10 long years and not be tainted by the death and destruction you not only see, but also know in your heart that you sometimes cause.

In our army every commander at every level is responsible for everything his unit does and everything it fails to do. If there is any military failure here, it is in a senior chain of command that does not know how to win a war in 10 years.

Obama's statements are outrageous. He knows absolutely nothing about the hardships of war and the mental state one must have to participate in the killing for one minute, much less for 10+ years.

Let's get behind the troops. POTUS, the SECDEF and the Commanding General are trying to make criminals out of those battle hardened men that have done their bidding for over 10 years, killing enemy soldiers, and watching too many of their buddies die. Our troops need our support right now more than ever before.

And don't talk to me about body parts. These are the same men who after watching their buddies get slaughtered, pick up the warm and bloody body parts of their buddies and tag and bag them for shipment home. Have you ever heard POTUS or SECDEF or a General complain about that? Try making a living watching and doing that for a 1/2 dozen combat tours. These are battle hardened men and they see things a bit different than POTUS, SECDEF and the Generals and probably some of ya'll.

We are lucky to have such men, and never forget it.
If George Patton was still with us, he would be kicking that USMC General's ass.

Support the troops. It is apparent no one in our government is.
