try a blackberry. i used to work for a software developer in Vanc who wrote apps for RIM in the early part of the last decade. not sure if they still use that old radio network to broadcast, but back then you could get instant email reception just about anywhere including at any point on my flights between multiple points in Canada and the US. there were no roaming charges either. been out of the biz for 11 years so this may all be moot as i have not had a blackberry for about a decade.

try a blackberry they work great,maybe telus will give you one to try or maybe a buddy has one to try
