Evidence of how the system worked previously is in every small town. Look at the huge houses. They were for multi-generational usage. Families actually lived that way and there was no Social Security. The elderly lived in their own home with subsequent generations providing as the elderly became less productive and more inclined to work around the home until there eventual death.

Now we see huge homes made for two and possible one or two offspring. The elderly in retirement homes where they die.

The old system was much more efficient.
