$72 billion on food stamps last year... $35,000.00 of debt for every man, woman & child as of today. Cost of food and fuel has doubled in 3 1/2 years under this admin. The dem controlled Senate &executive branches refusing to address the out of control spending and debt bomb. A POTUS that demonizes the productive people of this nation and divides along racial lines... Personally I could care less about labels. It's time for a change in leadership .. Which should not be difficult as we have none at the moment.

Bachmann explained that the President has every tool at his disposal to deal with speculators and “if there is a problem (with oil speculators) then President Obama is the problem for failing to utilize these tools that he has.” This is just about waiving a tar baby in the air and saying that something else is a problem. I have never seen a more irresponsible President who is infantile in the way that he continually blames everyone else for his failure to first diagnose the problem and second to address the problem. – Congresswoman Michelle Bachmann

The issues and ideologies of the time where rather different, conservative and liberal didn't have exactly the same sort of meaning back then that they do today, but if you want to look at things in the broadest possible terms, Lincoln was a conservative in that he wanted to preserve the union. And while I wouldn't call most Democrats racist, they have long been the party of racism. Not just in the Civil War era, but also during the 1940s to 1960s when most of the prominent racist politicians where Democrats. And even today, just with a different form of racism, support of affirmative action and other policies focused on the color of one's skin rather than the content of one's character.
