To all....In AMAT's conf call last thursday....they made some very bullish comments about DRAM...

They see DRAM demand increasing faster than capacity is increasing....at current rates they see a shortage of DRAM in late 1998 early 1999. That may explain the up move on Friday.

david, the real low cost pc is a home unit.
it's been a very long long long time since margins were35%<gg>
you gotta be joking.

companies do not purchase extended warranties, bec. they don't buy the sub pc....
they buy deskpros p166 for $1050 or above and they come with 3 yr warranty and will last 3 yrs in office and then be move to factory floor for 3 more yrs.
that's 6 yrs of use minimum...intel chips on that purchase last 6 yrs...
but, I asked about the low cost pc...
you don't know, do you..it doesn't have intel chip and never did.
it's has cyrx chip since it came out in february..
cpq margins have been going up for a number of yrs..go read the 10k's and 10q's..it's 27.4% now
the margin on the sub pc's is around 25% and they sell everyone that hits the store... plus the inventory turns on those pc's are 100 times a yr.

So far you are batting 1000..on statements that are incorrect...
but, I know your game..you are just pupping me for info...
