Your own statements tear your own arguments down. It is you who would place your trust and the fate of our entire economy on one man, Bernanke. That's just stupid. I'd place my trust in a free market with millions of participants any day over trusting one man, precisely because when you trust one man to make all the key decisions, he will inevitably make a mistake that will bring the whole system down. In a free market, at least everyone has a level playing field and all the information the market has at its disposal is brought to bear on solving problems. Bad actors are punished and good managers are rewarded.

When one man makes the decision for all of us, then you get crony capitalism. That is what we have now. It's very similar to my argument for why Obama should not have the power to declare an American citizen and enemy and have that person assassinate or detained indefinitely without Judicial oversight. That is a dictatorial power, which can be used to destroy our freedom and Democracy. Very similarly, giving Bernanke as much power as he has now, is giving him the power to destroy Capitalism and the Free Markets.

We're doing everything in our power to hide our heads in the sand and give up our Freedoms. It's unbelievable that not only are Americans going down meekly, but we're actively helping those who seek to destroy what has worked 225+ years in this country.
