Showing his words mean nothing, also today Samantha Power began work today as chair of President Barack Obama's new Atrocities Prevention Board. If you don't remember Ms Power she once called for a US force to invade Israel and force through a "peace settlement." Powers also had some unflattering things to say about about America's Jewish population during the 2008 campaign How long do you think it will be before Powers uses that board as tool to de-legitimize Israel? Power was a foreign policy adviser to the Obama campaign in 2008 when she blamed the Jews for the criticism of then Candidate Obama's foreign policy platform. "There will be situations where the priority is self-defence," she says, indicating that a preference for multilateralism only goes so far. "President Obama, like every other leader on earth, is still going to be looking out for national and economic interests. States don't cease to be states overnight just because they get a great visionary as their new president." But it is politically impossible for Obama to talk to Hamas, even if he wants to. She can't say that, though, especially when vicious internet smears are making lurid allegations about his "Muslim past"...."So much of it is about: 'Is he going to be good for the Jews?'" Power's response seen in the video below is her advice to the President would be “Alienate” the American Jewish community, and indeed all Americans, such as evangelical Christians, who support the state of Israel, because Israeli leaders are “destroying the lives of their own people.” Pour billions of dollars of the taxpayers’ money into “the new state of Palestine” Stage an American ground invasion of Israel and the Palestinian territories — what else can she mean by a “mammoth protection force” and a “military presence” that will be “imposed” by “external intervention”? — Interestingly she considers the exact same thing the height of arrogance and foolishness when it was done in Iraq. The video of the interview is below. Samantha Power has a history of blaming Israel, even when she knows charges against her are false. Martin Kramer points us to an interesting quote from the 2003 book Ethnic Violence and Justice, in which Samantha Power, one of Barack Obama’s foreign policy advisers, asks a question of David Rohde, a reporter who covered the 2nd intifada for the New York Times. The quote is as follows: Samantha Power: I have a question for David about working for the New York Times. I was struck by a headline that accompanied a news story on the publication of the Human Rights Watch report. The headline was, I believe: “Human Rights Report Finds Massacre Did Not Occur in Jenin.” The second paragraph said, “Oh, but lots of war crimes did.” Why wouldn’t they make the war crimes the headline and the non-massacre the second paragraph? Here we have another look into the mind of Power. Israel is accused in sensational press reports of a massacre in Jenin, and is subjected to severe international condemnation; HRW finally gets out a report and says OOPs there was no massacre; even the NYT reports this as its headline; but Power thinks the headline still should have been: Israel guilty of war crimes! Today President Obama spoke at the US Holocaust Museum, his words were pretty but it is his actions that tell the tale. In her own words Samantha Powers has attacked Israel when it had done no wrong, and blamed the Jews for Obama's campaign troubles. The appointment of Samantha Power to head up the new Atrocities Prevention Board, which under her tutelage is sure to become a forum for false attacks against Israel, is just one more example of Obama's actions not matching his words.

Shocker: Obama’s Popularity Falls Among Catholics Posted by Jammie on Apr 24, 2012 at 8:00 am Quite frankly, how his approval among practicing Catholics isn’t in single digits is a mystery. There’s never been an administration more openly hostile to the church, and any Catholic who still supports this regime needs to do some soul-searching. President Obama has seen his standing among Catholic voters, a crucial segment of the electorate, slip in recent weeks, and a looming confrontation with Catholic activists could make it worse. Democrats want voters this year to focus on what they have branded a war on women, but the flip side of the debate — the so-called war on religion — is not going away anytime soon. Earlier this month, the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops called for two weeks of public protest in June and July against what it sees as growing government encroachment on religious freedom. The protests are expected to include priests and nuns and thousands of Catholic parishioners. Some activists expect civil disobedience, which could lead to powerful images of priests and nuns being led away in hand restraints. “This is the most dynamic situation I’ve ever seen since I’ve been involved in Catholics and politics,” said Deal Hudson, president of Catholic Advocate, who also headed Catholic outreach for the Bush-Cheney presidential campaign in 2000 and 2004. “I think civil disobedience is almost inevitable. I think that kind of protest is on the way.” Civil disobedience that’s not ginned up by Obama and his union goons? Don’t expect much media coverage of that since it doesn’t go along with the narrative. Steven Wagner, the president of QEV Analytics, a polling firm that recently conducted a survey for The Catholic Association, said religion could emerge as a sleeper issue in the election: “Everyone says this election is about the economy. I can see the issue of religious liberty being what decides the race. If Obama continues to lose Catholics by the margin the Pew poll suggests, that means he could lose the key swing states of Florida, Ohio, Colorado and Iowa.” Losses in those states could cost Obama the White House, and the states are likely aware of that fact. Wagner noted the administration will likely try to be careful and avoid provoking Catholic activists before the election. The Obama strategy will probably be to just label them terrorists.

Recruits would gather other volunteers, register new voters, run phone banks and campaign events and knock on millions of doors to track voters' preferences and encourage supporters of the president's reelection. The massive, cross-country organization is called Obama Fellowships. It involves many thousands of unpaid volunteers, both full- and part-time with separate fellowships for the summer and the fall leading up to the Nov. 6 presidential election. The fellows' duties will include recruiting and training thousands of other volunteers to penetrate neighborhoods, run phone banks, organize and monitor campaign events and go door-to-door talking with voters, soliciting support for the Democrat and noting residents' political sympathies. In a recent plea sent to millions of existing Obama supporters, Michelle Obama says: "I'm writing because Barack needs you out there this summer." She warns that "there will be difficult days" as they "fight for progress" and "help more people make their voices heard." The first lady says: "It's an amazing experience -- one that could change your life while shaping this country for decades to come." She assures the would-be Obama legions that they will inherit the mantle of movement leadership from her husband. "The people who take on this challenge," Obama says, "will not only help move this country forward -- they'll also become the next generation of leaders." An attached link takes potential foot-soldiers to a lengthy application form that seeks standard location information, language, computer and online communication skills such as Facebook and Twitter. It also asks their comfort levels with telephone and door-to-door solicitations, first, second and third choice for assignment states and a series of mini-essays on such topics as working with diverse groups, overcoming adversities in life and what the word "organizing" means to them. There is a box suggesting students ask their colleges if they could obtain course credits for their unpaid summer- and fall-long political organizing for the Democrat. Another resume box hints that some kind of unspecified paid employment might be available for Obama volunteers after their fellowship is completed. Also sought is voluntary information on their military experience, ethnicity and sexual orientation.
