If you think about it, we all know a story or two of an unexpected disaster.. We know a family friend.. Their son, 18 or so at the time was driving alone.. Taking an exist a bit fast, either roads were slippery or he lost control.. The car rolled over.. Single car accident.. No seat belt.. Thrown out.. Seat belt would have meant, just a bruise.. Woke up in the hospital, paralyzed from neck down.. That was 20+ years ago.. Totally changed all of their lives..

My wife's fall off the bike occurred in the late 70s and was a very large event in our lives. Helmets and such became a constant part of our traveling lives.
