Possible Short Squeeze in Physical Silver:
Market Commentary for the Week of November 24, 1997 from Compak Trading Company on Precious Metals:
"This should be a most interesting week in the precious metals. We will see if the short squeeze in the silver market is for real. Prices on Friday closed at their highest levels since March of this year. The December contract has advanced over $1 an ounce from its summer lows. If delivery notices are strong this could send prices over $6 an ounce and greatly increase the lease rates. However an absence of notices could send prices quickly back below the $5 level. With the market closed Thursday and Friday for the holiday, it should be a volatile few days in front of Wednesday's first notices."
