>> It's not freedom to tell churches they have to arrange adoptions to gay couples, pay for employee's abortificants, etc.

I agree. I don't think churches should have to suffer at the hands of government, either. But I can't really advocate AGAINST that and FOR illegal marijuana without being a hypocrite.

>> Liberals are all for legislating morality, they just want it to be their morality.

I totally agree. Rs & Ds both want to legislate their own morality. Which is at least one reason you just can't do it. You're either free or not and I don't believe we can have it both ways.

As Milton Friedman pointed out, there are compelling economic reasons for legalization, but that is totally overshadowed by the moral reasons. What we are doing to people for possession of marijuana is among the most immoral acts perpetrated on people by their government in this country IMO.

Rep. Steve King torches Obama admin’s selective enforcement of law for political and racist reasons

April 24th, 2012
therightscoop.com

During a press conference on SB1070 today, Rep. Steve King ripped the Obama administration and the Justice Department for selective enforcement of the law solely for political and racist reasons. After citing example after example of how the Obama administration has done this, he went to the nub of it and spelled it out rather bluntly for the press:

There’s a political motive for this and it should be very clear to all of us. It’s not a mystery! This isn’t about somebody else’s idea of what the rule of law is, this is about somebody’s idea on what’s going to benefit them politically. We cannot be a successful nation if we’re going to let politics flow from the Justice Department and from the White House and usurp the rule of law.

Watch below, it’s excellent:

Obama Blames 'Knuckleheads' for Scandal at Secret Service

3 MORE AGENTS ARE OUT OF JOBS

(NEWSER) – President Obama tried to defuse the Secret Service scandal a bit during an interview with Jimmy Fallon that airs tonight, reports USA Today. The agents on the whole are "incredible," said Obama. “They protect me, they protect our girls. A couple of knuckleheads shouldn’t detract from what they do. What they were thinking, I don’t know. That’s why they’re not there anymore.”

Along those lines, three more agents involved in the Colombian scandal lost their jobs today, reports the Washington Post. Two resigned and another lost his security clearance, which disqualifies him from the Secret Service (pending appeal) but not necessarily from work at another federal agency. Two others were cleared of serious charges but face administrative action. That settles all 12 cases. Of those, nine agents are (or will be) gone from the service and three were cleared of serious misconduct.
