Not quite, Dan. By "Egghead," I mean a person who is extremely technical, with little business/practical motivations

Now you tell us. If you want to climb the corporate ladder, you are going to have to learn how to kiss butt a little earlier.

At least tell us to bend over a little bit.

Well, I will offer a counter to Egghead, which I will call "Suit".
This is someone who is so enamoured by style over substance that they forget that they have to innovate to stay on top. They have a condescending attitude toward their "inferior" or "out-of-touch-with-the-real-world" counterparts, while looking scornfully at other companies that pass them by. My point is, this type of attitude cuts both ways. In my experience, businesses that are not decently fit in either Business and Marketing acumen or Technical acumen do not usually last very long (unless, of course, you can keep buying yourself through the technology, but very few companies can sustain that, probably only MSFT, given their cash reserves).
