Why didn't the Govt invest tax dollars from the 1800s so they could lower taxes to zero and have no need for an income tax? Because once they get to Washington, the allure of spending 'other peoples' dollars' is just too damn addictive. Any political party, any ideology ... they become giddy with power and all those tax dollars just waiting to be spent. It's like a freaking shopping spree ... all on our dime of course. And besides, their retirements are assured without worry or concern of whether or not social security will be there for them. And whose fault is that? Well, ours, I guess - we keep sending the same old greedy bastards back, term after term.
