I anticipate (and hope for) a race like 1980, where the people want to give the President his full turn at bat while they size up the challenger. 1980 was close until the fall, when it suddenly swung toward Reagan.

Gold-FWIW-I wish the Republicans would draft someone. We need some excitement.
Of coarse, STEVE FORBES would be my choice. However I would take anyone that would energize the party.
