That’s a bogus conclusion, IMO. Morgan Stanley’s 122 companies with >=30% state ownership have outperformed the market indexes during the periods in question not because state involvement per se is a good thing, but rather because these 122 companies are among the world’s largest firms and big companies generally do better in the stock market during periods with high fear and volatility.
