Given the premise that the Fed is/was intervening in the markets by buyin S&P futures contracts...
I wonder how or when the Fed would choose to unwind an S&P futures position? I would think that most of these would be losing trades. Big bucks we're talkin' here. That's a loss of taxpayer money (to pay for the paper and ink to print more of it).
But what if they actually made some money? Hmmm. Startin' to sound like a real casino now.

Thanks. I was aware of the currency interventions,but had not even thought of this with regards to the futures.There is one assumption that never changes....The longer I live and try and make $ in the market the more I realize how little I know!:-)
