Sounds way too long to me. Helluva question! Such would require tremendously weakening our armed forces. Because all US Armed Forces members take an oath to protect and defend the Constitution. Remember we also have 21 million veterans who already volunteered once to defend America against all enemies foreign and domestic. If it is a straight fight, we won't ever be subjugated. 13 million Americans have hunting licenses. That is a lot of people who know how to shoot to kill. 70 million Americans own 280 million guns. I've written before that the real fight won't be underway until bubba (our country boys) decide to get involved. Bubba will prevail in a gunfight, but it could get very messy. The other side of the same coin is this - Massive use of WMDs (chemical, biological, nuclear) has the potential to rapidly change any of the equations. Could we be taken down from the inside? Perhaps. I think it may be easier than a direct armed confrontation. It would require (preferably initially surreptitiously) attacking and weakening every element of our way of life. The key elements imo are our court systems, our military, our energy producing systems, our health system, our monetary systems, our education system, our transportation system, our food production, H20 systems, banking systems, and perhaps most important our religious freedoms, family life and morality traditions and customs. Are any of these under attack right now? If yes, why? What is the desired end state of the attackers? Another way to look at it is this. Obama has had 31/2 years. Is he half way there? If yes, he should be able to finish the job in 3 1/2 more years. History since WWII teaches us the second half is the most difficult for all sides. The same history tells us Communist/Socialist leaders have an excellent record of prevailing in this kind of conflict. Think about Mao, Stalin, Pol Pot, Castro, etc., etc.. You asked my opinion. My opinion is this. America is in very deep sxxt right now and not enough leaders are working towards appropriate solutions. Presently, the fighting is at the skirmish level, but there is so much to gain by winning, and so much to lose by losing, I expect some very difficult days, weeks and months in the not so distant future. Remember Y2K!? The reason Y2K was not the catastrophe we feared is because everyone was working on the same problem. We have no where near that kind of concentrated effort going for us today. Stay safe, uw
