Who hires illegals for cheap labor? Around here, it's small time hispanic (citizen) businessmen. There's no language barrier. Maybe you think all hispanic businessmen are Republicans.

comprehensive immigration reform for over a decade, including the Dream Act,

Any "reform" that doesn't control border entry will just encourage more illegal entry.

Tell that to your Republican friends who hire them for cheap labor.

Money knows no Politics.. Both sides love to make money..

And btw, it isn't "reform" by plotting to give all illegals immediate status as permanent residents.

It's reform by issuing them temporary work visas with their employers becoming responsible for their presence here, and building a case background on whether they are a positive or detrimental influence on our society (criminal behavior).

Why do you favor illegals in this country over the millions who try to go through the process legally? That's just unfair.

But I do agree that we have a problem in the cost of arresting and deportation of 10% of the Mexican population from US borders (not counting illegals from other countries).

And some of these people have been here so long that they have had children here, who automatically receive US citizenship (a law I think we also should change). So, on a case by case basis we're going to have to spend money to deal with this issue, whether by deporting them without prejudice so they can legally apply for a future visa (how's that for showing compassion?), or deal with the US citizenship issue related to offspring/family connections.

I'm not going to pretend to know all the potential solutions to the problem.. But I DO KNOW that enforcing existing law should be where we start..
