Basically, I read that Seagate can exercise the option in 1999 to market 1/3 of CF for Sandisk. I guess there is probably a clause somewhere in the legal documents that said that if Seagate does not meet certain sales target then the contract will be void. Sandisk is smart enough to know how to protect itself. Perhaps all these discussions can be deferred for later. We have a El Nino storm from Japan to be concerned right now. Nikkei is down more than 5% to less than 16,000. The indexes for the other countries of Asia (Korea, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand) have also reached the 52 week lows. So fasten your seatbelt for a wild downstream ride tomorrow.
