BOJ says made special loans to Yamaichi Securities

TOKYO, Nov 25 (Reuters) - The Bank of Japan (BOJ) made
special loans to failed brokerage Yamaichi Securities Co Ltd
on Tuesday, a central bank spokesman said.
The official declined to comment on the amount of the loans.
He added that the loans were made under Article 25 of the
BOJ Law, which empowers the central bank to extend unlimited
amounts of unsecured loans to financial institutions whose
insolvency is deemed a threat to the stability of the nation's
financial system.

In the recently completed quarter Cymer delivered 126 DUV lasers to stepper manufacturers. Even more will be delivered in coming quarters to the major stepper manufacturers (Nikon, Canon, ASM, VSG). Cannon alone expects to sell 200 DUV laser equipped steppers per year starting next July (see Cymer post #10480). SEMATECH recently concluded DUV (Cymer) has no competition until the 0.1 micron limit is breached and not before year 2002 in production capable manner. Betty, why do yo persist in alarming us with a non existent XRL bogey man being just around the corner (pre year 2002)? Tulvio

<<<This comment in the article should be read carefully:>>>

Betty,

Thanks for the references on your statements. In reading the two articles I saw nothing to lead me to belive that XLR is even close to being used in mass production, just more of the same speciality facilities and evaluation fabs. This is something XLR has a lot of experience in. With the stated target markets for the .07 to .17 micron for XRL, we again have the cart before the horse, the .25 micron not yet mastered and just entering into the mass production arena. The next act in this show is KrF lasers, Cymer, and even now we are waiting for the curtain to go up. How long is this act? Will KrF be extended economicaly well below .25 micron? I don't know, but I do know this generation of fab equipment is about to take its run and I hope we are in for a good ride.

CUL,
Ed

Isn't JMAR one of the 18 "penny stocks" under SEC investigation as a Mob controlled "pump and dump" scheme?

I heard Fleckenstein and Abelson are supposed to be included in the next round of inditements.
