If it is a very small company in a big market, the sky is the limit on growth. But if you have 60+% of market share in tablet market and 23% of smartphone WW market in 4Q (can hardly wait to see 1Q number come out. My guess is that Apple is closing in 30% of the 1Q12 smartphone market share already.), market share and underlying market growth count for a lot to determine the unit sales growth.
People were making that same point (using different numbers) last year. And the year before. And the year before. And so on. "Apple is so big already, they can't continue to grow at this pace." I could find you posts from 2008 that say that.
