The dividend raise was a goofy move.

You see this time after time. Management tries to bluff the capital markets using the same techniques which usually work with employees, suppliers, and customers. Management figures that a strong display of confidence will sway whoever they are dealing with. RIMM's stock buybacks at high prices is an example of this. Unfortunately for management, bluffs don't work well on capital markets, so the net result is management looks like a stable filled with jackasses.
