Yeah, but not *internal* power supplies. Tripp Lite makes UPS power supplies and powerstrips with capacitance to last for several seconds, DC power supplies and remote programmable power supplies (you can control them with a modem and phone line. Frequency filters, surge supressors, etc.

About 11 years ago I was contracting for Pacific Power and the engineers there (who were power engineers) ran the products of just about every company in that market through exhaustive testing. They came up with Tripp Lite, and bought them for every PC in the place.

They have improved some since then. My old ones from 11 years ago still work ok too, even though line filters should be replaced periodically as you may know.

As far as internal power supplies go I think bigger is better. For 150 bucks you can get one of those nice black tower cases with a 300 watt supply, and a nice powerful quiet fan or two.
