One thesis would be wireless margins are due to APPL policies, policies which give the bulk of positive economics to APPL and the bulk of costs to their business partners. I believe these APPL policies are unsustainable in the long run. However, how long is the short run? Things will get worse for business partners before they get better, and I'm not so sure that the majority of the getting worse is priced in yet.

Ad dollars are a necessary evil. How else do you get people into the stores? Those dollars must be targeting someone, but they sure aren't targeting me. If I'm part of the target market then their advertising is ineffective as I don't associate RSH with anything I want to buy.
