Yikes. We could use the degrees.

Seriously, its getting really weird. I have been growing things since I was 6. I have never seen plants so far behind schedule. To give you some examples..........there is the flower the daffodil......they start blooming the latter part of Feb. They are usually done by the end of March. Its May 2nd and I still have some in my yard that haven't bloomed yet. Lilacs usually start blooming by late March and peak by mid April...........most haven't started blooming yet. Trees are usually all leafed out by mid April. This year some have yet to get started. Usually I have my tomato plants in the ground by the 3rd week of April. I haven't even bought them yet. Like I said, its very strange............I have never seen plants so far behind schedule as this year.

And just a month ago.........they said that La Niña......the weather system that is causing the cool weather........was ending and that we would be entering an El Niño cycle. Now they are saying we may be going to neutral and then back to La Niña for another weird year. To give you an idea........last July 4th it was so cold I was wearing my winter jacket. Its even funnier when you see how warm it is out East.
