2Q Apple sold a combined 37 million unit of Ipad and Iphone and make 12.30. So for $18.5 per quarter run rate, Apple will have to sell 50% more or roughly 55-56 million combined Iphone and Ipad with similar margin as today.
Actually, Apple sold 47 million combined iPad and iPhone in Q2, which would make the comparison even more difficult than you suggest. But the company also sells computers and a couple of other things. Plus, there is still the strong possibility of additional product lines being introduced (TV?).

In addition, Apple's share of smartphone sales overall is still below 30%, so there's room to grow there, and there are plenty of carriers still to be added around the world.

This guy has been pretty good at forecasting. His June Quarter and 2013 estimates are included in this article. His name is Daniel Tello, and is one of the independent analysts PED features.

If I find the time, I will do a full blown model for the June quarter, but that kind of stuff may have to wait until I retire and move to the Yucatan next year.

Robert Leitao is at $56 a share for the current fiscal year
