New features to the Cable Data system include 16 Quadrature Amplitude Modulation (QAM), Internet Protocol (IP) multicast, service levels and an ATM network interface. ... NETWORK MANAGEMENT Motorola's implementation of new Network Management applications will provide a comprehensive management solution for Motorola's Cable Data System that will enable operators to view all of their cable routers from a central site. This will allow operators to proactively diagnose problems and plan for future network requirements. This includes fault, performance, configuration and topology management via a graphical user interface. The applications will operate either in conjunction with HP Open View or as ''stand-alone'' applications running on Solaris, HP-UX or Windows NT operating systems.
