As Snow correctly points out though the US has the resources.. of all stripes... not lacking in much.. Water maybe an issue but they can annex us and problem solved :o(

US doesn't really need to be a Reich or a Japan or a USSR etc etc and go outward for resources.. Maybe what needs to return to its natural size in the US is the government :O) and the rest will take care of itself.. (pretty much similar up here.. on a smaller scale )
