Not true at all. The west post war, became a hotbed of Production in fields that didnt hardly exist during the war and post war period. While other economies retreated to status of non economies..(looters and looted the only innovation was in the details).with no degrees of freedom, no innovation, falling behind the real producers with every passing minute.

ElM, Mao and Stalin created black holes of no benefit to the Free World. <prosperity Western World was to certain extent build on the devastation the USSR and Mao inflicted in E. Europe and Asia. >There was no benefit to me from Mao's Maelstrom [other than a few people fleeing and making their way to NZ]. It was just a black hole of horrors and poverty.

Now that China has left the worst of it behind, the prosperity of the Western World is zooming. Made in China is a phenomenal benefit to me and I send them loads of mobile Cyberspace in the form of Qualcomm's technology in payment. Apple is banking $billions as a billion people in China surge into Cyberspace.

When Kissinger went to China it was a big deal. Now Hillary Clinton makes a visit and it's barely iin the newspaper.

You could argue that China not bidding for Iranian oil left more at lower prices for the Free World to buy and enjoy. But mostly they just burned it in Yank Tanks, not creating wealth so much as smog. China bids $130 per barrel and uses that oil to produce more GDP and smog. They can't afford to just drive around in Yank Tanks wasting $130 per barrel oil to increse the smog in Beijing.

At $2 per barrel, people could afford to waste it. At $130 per barrel they are more cautious about how they use it. [Adjust that for inflation and it's still much more expensive now].
