mnmuench, please do not leave us now. I'll be backTomato has raised some issues that in many ways can be regarded as practice..... Yes he has. IMO, his questions are extremely pertinent. My aggressive tone in response to ACIM lesson #1 invited equally aggressive rebuttal because I feel I am wrong somewhere in the thinking and wanted contrast to highlight my faulty reasoning. My statements should probably be disregarded barring prior preparation. IMO, even just living each day with nobility and gracefulness can be "practice". Is there greater enlightenment than a grief overcome without bitterness? Is there greater beauty than the love in a parent's tears?but the question is can this set of statements, if put into practice, produce some good to the being who utilizes them. "some good" yes, relative to one's aspiration. IMOdo you think that a set of practices can be metaphysically unsound, and still provide a path toward the Goal? "the" goal, no; "a" goal, yes. IMOOr are we talking about two different things. Does sound Metaphysics have anything to do, or more precisely, is it determinant in judging a particular set of practices....or does Metaphysics deal with belief systems, with little applicability to practice? "All that exists, in whatever mode this may be, necessarily participates in universal principles, and nothing exists except by participation in these principles, which are the eternal and immutable essences contained in the permanent actuality of the Divine Intellect. Consequently, it can be said that all things, however contingent they may be in themselves, express or represent these principles in their own way and according to order of existance, for otherwise they would be purely and simply nothingness. Thus, from one order to another, all things are linked together and correspond, to come together in total and universal harmony, for harmony is nothing other than the reflection of principial unity in the manifested world: and it is this correspondance which is the veritable basis of symbolism. This is the beginning of metaphysical study." ------Rene Guenon, "Autoite spirituelle et pouvoir temporel" IMO, in the study of metaphysics there is not Knowledge without practice otherwise it is not Knowledge it is knowledge ghunk
