I was responding to a poster who was lying about Obama's faith. If you wish to discuss Obama's faith, we can discuss Romney's Mormonism while we are at it.

What we do know of Obama's faith is he was born a Muslim due to his Muslim father. His step father was a Muslim and he was registered as Muslim in school while in Indonesia. At some point, he decided that his spiritual mentor was Jeremiah Wright and he followed his teachings for 20 years. Wright is a follower of Black Liberation Theology.

Many people in the Middle East still believe him to be a Muslim.

From Wikipedia:

The Qur'an itself does not prescribe any earthly punishment for apostasy; Islamic scholarship differs on its punishment, ranging from execution – based on an interpretation of certain hadiths – to no punishment at all as long as they "do not work against the Muslim society or nation." [1] The majority of Muslim scholars hold to the traditional view that apostasy is punishable by death or imprisonment until repentance, at least for adult men of sound mind.
