No one doubts the earthquake and tsunami hazards, but they are also site specific:

You can be sure earthquake and tsunami risks have been studied in depth for site selection. The headwaters of Whale Channel at Kitimat look to be one of the safest spots available.

Extending your logic, all economic activity within 50 meters elevation of tidewater should not be allowed. What about marinas, jetty's, coastal cities and towns, commercial and residential building, mills, etc? What about the shoreline economic activity in Burrard inlet, including the refinery and oil loading terminal at Port Moody?

I believe we will have to agree to disagree.
