Don't know about Al-Queda, but the Taliban guys are all in North Waziristan in the Pakistan tribal area. Notice how it juts into into the heart of the Afghan country. A handy life saving hideout into which they can retreat after raids.

This reminds me of the VC using the parrot's beak feature of Cambodia that thrust into VN about 40 kilometers WSW of Saigon. Could never get those suckers out of there either.

However our drones have caused them, the Taliban, much havoc hence the Pakistani government's insistence we cease this (our drones killed some 30 or Pakistan border guards that got in the middle of our hot night pursuit of the Taliban out of AFghanistan) and our insistence that if they want us to stop using drones then they send the regular Pakistan Army into North Wazirstan--which they refuse to do. Pakistan wants these guys help to keep India' s troops tied up on the Northern Kashmir border.
