There was no goddamn need for that pot crackdown. There was not even any political pressure on him to do that!
That's the part of it that pisses me off the most. Nobody was raising any kind of stink about it. Obama had originally ordered the DOJ not to prioritize such cases. The reason for reversing that decision remains a mystery.

I think Obama has made some choices that are purely based on a strategy to get him re-elected.
The ridiculous prosecution of medical marijuana folks is one of them. Keeping us in Afghanistan is another.
Disgusting, but I see no real alternatives. Plus, every other president has done the same thing, except maybe Carter and that didn't work out so well for him.
