White couple's terror as 30-strong mob of black youths armed with rocks attacks them in their car as they wait at red light

By Daily Mail Reporter 4 May 2012

A 16-year-old male has been arrested after a gang of black youths armed with rocks violently beat a white couple in an unprovoked attack.

Reporters Marjon Rostami and Dave Forster were waiting at a red light at the intersection of Brambleton Avenue and Church Street in Norfolk, Virginia, on April 14 when they were set upon by the 30-strong mob.

But the couple's ordeal was not reported by their employer, the Virginian-Pilot, for two weeks, sparking outrage among some readers who claim the newspaper buried the story for political reasons.

Attacked: Marjon Rostami, left, and Dave Forster, right, were attacked by the gang of black youths in Norfolk, Virginia, last month

The arrested teen, whose name has not being released because of his age, has been charged with throwing a missile at a vehicle, as well as two counts of simple assault by mob, destruction of property and participation in a riot.

Rostami and Forster were driving back from a concert on the night of the attack when a teenager, who was part of a larger group, threw a rock at their stationary vehicle after reportedly witnessing Rostami lock her car door.

Forster got out of the car to confront the assailant, which is when ‘wave after wave of young men surged forward to take turns punching and kicking their victim,’ according to a column by Michelle Washington, which was the Virginian-Pilot's first report of the incident.

‘[Rostami] tried to pull him back into his car. Attackers came after her, pulling her hair, punching her head and causing a bloody scratch to the surface of her eye,’ Washington’s column continued.

Explanation: Virginian-Pilot editor Denis Finley, left, defended the newspaper's decision to wait two weeks before publishing a report by columnist Michelle Washington, right, on the incident

'Neither suffered grave injuries, but both were out of work for a week. Forster's torso ached from blows to his ribs, and he retained a thumb-sized bump on his head. Rostami fears to be alone in her home,' she added.

The couple said that there were around 100 youths in the vicinity and 30 in close proximity to their car during the assault.

A day after the unprovoked attack, Forster scoured the internet to see if the incident had been reported, according to Washington's column.

But he was shocked by one Twitter post. 'I feel for the white man who got beat up at the light,' one person wrote. 'I don't,' added another. '(do it for trayvon martin)'.

But the Norfolk Police Department said there is no evidence to suggest the attack was a hate crime.

Norfolk Police Chief Sharon Chamberlin said there was no evidence to suggest the assault was racially-motivated

'At no time in our investigation or in the statements taken from the victims did it appear that this assault was racially motivated,' Norfolk Police Chief Sharon Chamberlin said at a press conference yesterday.

She added that only a ‘handful’ of people carried out the attack.

The Virginian-Pilot yesterday defended their coverage of the disturbing incident in a front-page editorial.

'We did not cover up anything. What would we gain by protecting some thugs who beat up two of our reporters? The accusation is ludicrous,' editor Denis Finley wrote.

'Based on the facts, this story did not cross the bar to be published because as a general rule, The Pilot doesn't publish stories about simple assaults,' he added.

Former AG: Obama had memo drafted to blame military if Bin Laden assassination failed You will remember that about two weeks ago, I reported that President Obama voted present on the Bin Laden assassination. Contrary to his attempts to present himself as a leader who made a 'gutsy call' to kill Bin Laden, Obama left the decision up to commanders in the field. Well, it's worse than that.

On Friday, Sean Hannity showed an interview with former Attorney General Michael Mukasey, who said that Obama had Leon Panetta draft a memo to protect the President politically in case the operation failed. If the operation to kill Bin Laden had failed, the US military was to be blamed.

Let's go to the videotape. This video is devastating to Obama, and not just because of his attempts to cover his tail in the Bin Laden assassination, but also because of the comparisons to Abraham Lincoln and Dwight Eisenhower.

Report: Obama Fans Papered with Sherrod Brown Restraining Order
by Breitbart News
breitbart.com

Yesterday, Breitbart News reported on the checkered past of Sherrod Brown, the Ohio Senator with whom Barack Obama launched his reelection campaign earlier today. Included in Breitbart editor Ben Shapiro's report was a restraining order against Brown filed by his ex-wife Larke and granted by the court. During divorce filings, Larke Brown alleged abuse by then Ohio Secretary of State Brown.

Today, Brown and Obama campaigned together at Ohio State University's Schottenstein Center. According to sources close to Breitbart News, conservative activists papered cars outside the arena with excerpts of the aforementioned restraining order as well as yesterday's Breitbart News report. Larke Brown's motion asked the court to stop Sherrod from “harassing, including telephone harassment, annoying, interfering with or doing bodily harm to this Plaintiff at her residence or elsewhere.” Shapiro drew attention to the irony of Obama choosing to launch his campaign with Brown in the midst of the alleged "War on Women."

Top General: Obama Knew About OBL’s Hideout in Abbottabad Since Summer of 2010 – Refused to Act Until May (Video) Posted by Jim Hoft on Saturday, May 5, 2012, 8:09 PM

General Jack Keane (Retired), the former Vice Chief of Staff of the Army, told Mike Huckabee tonight that Barack Obama knew about Osama Bin Laden’s hideout since the summer of 2010. But Barack Obama refused to act for several months. He wanted absolute proof first that Osama was living there. It wasn’t until May of 2011 that he agreed to attack Bin Laden’s compound, almost a year later.
