No, there will be no strikes. Only the thumping of chests!

Right now there is in-house fighting between the union and pilots. At DAL, some pilots want to de-certify ALPA. (USAir already did). Don't think management really cares about the outcome. The union bosses care because their pay and benefits are outrageous and they want to keep the perks and pay. ALPA bosses are very nervous that they will no longer have the cushy pay and perks, very nervous. Would you want to give up $537K, free travel, free hotels and meals, not to mention fabulous convention destinations and a pension!

Now that DAL has bought an oil refinery, maybe they will have some control over the cost of jet fuel and can sell the by product for profit. Sure glad they have a lot of money to spend, even they are $15 B in debt. But they don't have the money to restore pilot pay since 2005 bankruptcy! Needless to say pilots are not happy with the company and certainly not happy with the union bosses.
