The jobless rate is no doubt a big factor in the nation's war policy. Bringing lots of soldiers home and returning them to civilian life would raise the jobless rate considerably. Plus you'd have a bunch of weapons trained young people really angry.
Might even be a repeat of the veteran riots of the 20's and 30's.
A shame that two of our biggest job creation engines are war and prisons.
