Why does this canard persist on chat boards? The math is really, really simple. Every one tenth of one percent of the US labor force is about 140-150,000 people. We currently have fewer troops than that in Afghanistan. If we rotated them all home and then used attrition to reduce the ranks by some tens of thousands (assuming many are careerists who will stay in, and some are reservists who already have a job waiting) then WE DON'T MAKE EVEN A TINY DENT IN UNEMPLOYMENT. If another set of numbers exists that proves otherwise, please explain.
